Customer feedback for Beach Mac

Beach Mac is the place to go

I recently cracked the aluminum bezel around my LCD on my Macbook Pro and needed to find someone who could replace it for me at a reasonable cost. My AppleCare had run out last month, so I was on my own. I checked out Beach Mac, the Apple Store, and another Mac shop that shall remain unnamed for repair options and to compare rates. The Apple Store told me i would have to replace the whole upper lid assembly with the LCD ($600 for the part alone), because Apple didn't make individual replacement parts. The unnamed Mac shop quoted me $1200 and didn't even look at my laptop. When I walked into Beach Mac, I was welcomed by a familiar face. Kevin, (the owner) is a former Apple Store Genius. I had worked with him several times with my MBP when it was under warranty. Kevin greeted me enthusiastically right away and asked how he could help. I showed him the crack and right away we came up with a solution. I actually ended up spending an hour there talking with him about all kinds of Mac stuff. We located a bezel for my LCD (not an easy task, by the way) and I decided to replace my aging hard drive while he had it apart. Once the parts came in, Kevin actually finished the repair faster than expected. He also had cleaned up all the internals and cloned my original drive so that my machine was ready to go as soon as I turned it on. Kevin has definitely taken the Apple customer service mentality with him to his new business, and it will set him apart from the competition. If your Mac needs some TLC, do yourself and your Mac a favor and take it to Beach Mac. You will not regret it.

I've definitely had my share of Apple crises. A cracked iPhone screen, a fried hard drive, an iPod that just had a mind of its own. I first met the owner of Beach Mac, Kevin Copeland, when he worked as an Apple Genius. He helped with all of the aforementioned crises in the Apple Store. He was my preferred go-to genius because he was smart, friendly and always solved the problems that others couldn't fix. Now he owns Beach Mac, a company that offers many services beyond what's offered at the Apple Store. He recently replaced my MacBook keyboard within a few minutes for $75. I was able to get an appointment the same day I called. I liked that he checked the warranty on my laptop first to make sure he wouldn't charge me for repairs I could get for free at the Apple Store. My warranty was up so I had Beach Mac do the work. He's very thorough, too. He cleaned my screen and casing before he gave the laptop back to me. He's honest and gives truly helpful advice. Earlier this year, I called Beach Mac about a cracked iPhone screen (yes, this would be the second time I shattered my iphone!). He said he could repair it for cheaper, but advised if I paid $200 at Apple they were likely to replace the entire phone (not just replace the screen). That time, I opted for the Apple Store.  My mom had Beach Mac do a house call to help her with trouble she was having in iPhoto. She was very pleased with the help. If you ever have an Apple crisis, no need to hyperventilate like I used to do. Beach Mac will have you up and running in no time.
