Beach Tec is an independent consulting and technical support company serving individuals and businesses in the Hampton Roads, VA area with their Mac-related needs, including third party products and configuration. We specialize in providing beyond-the-box solutions.

We like to think that Beach Tec “fills in the gaps” in the excellent service provided by Apple® at their retail store locations. For example, we can provide aftermarket upgrades for hard drives, RAM, optical drives (CD/DVD), and graphics cards. We also provide basic configuration and support for third-party products — both hardware and software — that Apple can’t support in their retail stores. Beach Mac can also come to your home or office for service.

Beach Tec was launched in December 2009 by Kevin Copeland, a former Genius at Apple retail, to address demand for an independent Mac and Apple products specialist in southeastern Virginia. Kevin’s training and experience with Apple retail makes him uniquely qualified in Hampton Roads to provide the high level of service that Apple’s customers have come to expect.

About Kevin Copeland

Kevin has long been a passionate promoter of Apple technology and culture. Prior to launching Beach Tec, Kevin was recruited by Apple retail in Summer 2006 to be a founding Genius (technician) for its MacArthur Center retail store in Norfolk, VA, where he provided exemplary customer service for three and a half years. Before Apple, Kevin provided Mac support for CBN, Canon USA, and IKON Office Solutions, among others. Kevin has been using Macs professionally since 1993 and has been supporting them professionally since 1998. Kevin holds several Apple technical certifications, as well as industry-standard CompTIA A+ and HDI Help Desk certifications. Kevin is also recognized as an Apple Sales Professional and an Apple Products Professional.

Kevin was born and raised in Virginia Beach, where he lives with his wife, two children, two cats and two ferrets (or, as he affectionately calls them, “stinky snake rats”). In addition to supporting and promoting Macs and other Apple technology, Kevin’s interests include digital culture, cartooning, gaming, and game design.
